Mel Gibson Comes Full Circle, Confronts Cops Again At Infamous Checkpoint

Mel Gibson has come full circle. The 57-year-old actor was stopped by Malibu cops last Saturday… on the exact same road where he was busted for DUI in 2006. You remember. When everything was the Jews’ fault, and Gibson’s career tanked.

TMZ reports that Gibson and a female passenger were stopped by Malibu PD around 1AM last weekend at a DUI checkpoint on Pacific Coast Highway. The key difference this time is that Gibson was apparently sober, and didn’t blame his misgivings on the Jews.

Deputies reportedly asked Gibson if he had been drinking. He replied “no,” and the police apparently didn’t have a reason to suspect otherwise.

But both parties did trade some nasties at the checkpoint. Cops asked Gibson for his license, which he didn’t have on him. Police asked him to proceed to a second screening point, and Gibson lost it.

“Why are you harassing me?” he reportedly shouted. Deputies asked why he was upset, to which he responded, “I have had problems with you Lost Hills [Malibu] deputies in the past.”

The Malibu deputies eventually just let Gibson off with a warning, at which point he reportedly simmered down and drove off peacefully.

That went a lot better than last time. In 2006, Gibson was pulled over in roughly the same spot and arrested for DUI. The story was covered widely by the media, particularly due to a highly controversial line in Gibson’s drunken rant to his arresting officer:

“F*cking Jews… the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,” he said.

Mel Gibson’s career hasn’t really recovered since.
