Sofia Vergara Is Highest-Paid TV Actress Again

Sofia Vergara was named the highest-paid TV actress for the second year in a row. The honor comes from Forbesrankings of the 14th annual Celebrity 100.

Vergara is the breakout star of Modern Family who also enjoys a mass of celebrity endorsement deals. Because of that, Vergara’s earnings in the past year hit $30 million.

The list looked at earnings of American celebrities from June 2012 until June 2013. The list is based off cash for projects completed and contracts fulfilled during that time.

The 20 top-paid TV actresses earned $183 million through their TV projects, endorsements, and licensing deals as a result of their shows. Vergara’s licensing was more even than the famous sisters from Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The Kardashian sisters shared the number 4 spot on the list.

CNN notes that Sofia Vergara’s top spot on the list of highest paid actresses is far above her competition. The actress’ earnings are more than double that of the two women tied for second place. Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory and Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: SVU are tied with $11 million each.

Tina Fey and Bethenny Frankel were tied for third with about $10 million. Forbes used several contacts to gather their information on the actresses’ earnings for the past year. Along with speaking to their managers and agents, the publication also speaks to industry insiders.

While Sofia Vergara earned a good amount for her part in Modern Family, the actress also has several endorsement details like SEARS Brands, Diet Pepsi, Covergirl, Rooms To Go, and even the thyroid medicine Synthroid.

Also on the list are Melissa McCarthy and Kerry Washington, who have both enjoyed a lot of success this year. McCarthy appeared in The Heat and Identity Thief, both of which raked in serious money this summer.

But it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see Sofia Vergara as the top-paid TV actress this year.
