Ka-BOOOOM!: Exploding Xbox pics are pointless, beautiful

When Fortune decided to run a story on the demise of console gaming, the magazine brought in photographer Dan Saelinger to make some Xboxes Exboxes (I’m here all week).

The results are these striking pictures of an exploding Xbox 360 and a controller. During his shoot, Saelinger sent ten 360 machines and eight controllers to the big console graveyard in the sky. Also, the explosions were so fast that laser and sound triggers were required for precision. That’s a lot of time, effort and expense, but the images are stunning:
