Xbox 360 Games: Over 100 Still To Come

Xbox 360 games will still be supported for a few years, with over 100 titles being planned.

Budget-minded gamers can relax, as the Xbox 360 will still have new games coming for a few more years. As each new generation comes along, the consoles that are still around usually end up getting new games that have to compete with those of the new console, and as a result, some of the best games any console ever sees are the ones we get in the end.

This is good news for Xbox 360 owners who may be worrying about how much more use they will get from their console before it’s abandoned almost entirely. Microsoft admits it makes no sense to abandon the millions of Xbox 360 owners who aren’t buying the Xbox One yet. Therefore, over 100 new Xbox 360 games will be released before its lifespan is over.

Xbox chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi went on the record as saying, “If you look at [Xbox 360,] that platform lasted for seven to eight years and it’s going to go for another three years. It’s incredibly profitable now in the tail. We’re going to continue to invest in Xbox 360, and the two devices can work in concert. So it’s not like the day we ship Xbox One your 360 won’t work. We’ll continue to support it.”

There you go, Xbox 360 owners, Microsoft themselves have confirmed that your console won’t be abandoned any time soon. Also, if history repeats itself, the last bunch of games will be some of the best the console has ever seen. It is unknown at this point whether these games will be physical copies or downloadable, or possibly both.

Yusuf Medhi continued to explain that Xbox Live membership is still growing, and they are up to 48 million members. They are shipping more games now than ever before.

We will still see over 100 new Xbox 360 games in the future, so don’t worry if you don’t buy the Xbox One right away.
