Justin Bieber Reportedly Lost $40,000 Gold Chain In Toronto Nightclub Attack

Justin Bieber reportedly lost a $40,000 gold chain when he was attacked by a random, male clubgoer in a Toronto club early Saturday morning (August 31.)

The pop star and his crew were partying at the city’s downtown Uniun nightclub.

TMZ reported sources said Justin left the VIP area to mingle with ordinary clubbers around 3 am, when a male clubgoer charged at him in an unprovoked attack. The man grabbed at the singer’s shirt and tried to take him to the floor.

At that point, Bieber’s bodyguards launched at the attacker and dragged him off the “Baby” singer before tackling the assailant to the ground and escorting him out of the club.

The Toronto Star quotes Orin Bristol, operations manager at the nightclub, who claims the ruckus kicked off when a male — who may have been a fan — approached Justin for a photo op.

“The fan was just a small little guy,” Bristol recalls. “He wasn’t being aggressive.” The operations manager says Bieber’s bodyguards thought differently and shoved the man to the ground.

“Security was a bit aggressive,” he added.

“There weren’t punches thrown really; it was more of a shoving match and pushing match.”

Bristol added no-one was hurt, but said at some point during the melee Justin lost his gold chain — which was reportedly worth $40,000.

Over at Toronto Sun Canoe Showbiz, other eyewitnesses in the club have come forward.

Joallore Alon, 40, said he was at Uniun when Bieber and his crew showed up around 2 am.

“From the back entrance they came in and stayed for a bit,” Alon told Canoe. “He took off his shirt and had his sunglasses on and was hanging out in the VIP section behind the DJ’s stage.”

He went on: “Apparently, he [Bieber] suddenly walks with his security into the dance section and that’s when the alleged altercation happened.”

Alon admits he didn’t see the fight, but says he saw the singer leave through a back exit at around 3 am with his bodyguards headed to a waiting SUV. He said the guards appeared to be looking for someone or something.

“Justin Bieber looked calm, he didn’t look like he was agitated,” Alon said.”Someone was screaming, ‘Where’s his chain? Grab his chain.'”

Multiple reports have stated Justin attempted to defend himself during the attack by kicking out at the male clubgoer. The singer and his crew reportedly left Uniun nightclub shortly after the clash.

Police were not called to the scene. In addition, Toronto Star reports the local 14 Division police have not heard reports of the incident and are not investigating the matter.

Bieber and his entourage also visited the Everleigh club on King St. W., and allegedly partied with models after leaving Uniun, but it’s unknown where.

At present, it remains unclear whether a gold chain was lost, stolen, or snatched in the rumpus or indeed whether it has now been found.

Bieber’s history with nightclubs over the last few months has been fraught to say the least.

Among the slew of police investigations and alleged incidents involving the singer and his security team, the heartthrob and his security team were accused of assaulting a male clubber at the Hamptons South Pointe nightclub in New York earlier this month.

As well as an ongoing police investigation, the alleged victim, Wayne Rennalls, is suing the singer and his security team in a personal injury lawsuit.

In the early hours of July 30, Justin and his entourage were denied entry to the Griffin Nightclub in the Meatpacking District of New York City on the basis of the singer’s underage status, Daily Mail Online reported.

On July 13, Bieber was accused of spitting and swearing at a DJ in a Columbus, Ohio club after an alleged dispute over the man’s alleged attempt to take photos of the singer. Charges are yet to be filed.

Justin attended Chicago nightclub Bodi in the early hours of July 10 after performing a show at the city’s United Center Arena the night before. The club was subsequently cited by police for allowing underage patrons onto its premises.

E! News reported Bieber was escorted from Hollywood’s Lure nightclub on June 9 due to the club’s over-21 door policy.

During his return to his native country, Justin visited the Avon Theater in Stratford, Ontario where he busked as a child before worldwide fame beckoned in 2009. On Friday, the pop prince tweeted an Instagram of himself sitting by his Avon star with a brief caption:

“Remember where you come from (sic)…”
