Justin Timberlake Pens Open Letter To Fans After VMAs Victory

Miley Cyrus may be getting all of the attention, but the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony almost undoubtedly belonged to Justin Timberlake. After going home with arms full of awards, the “Suit & Tie” singer wrote an open letter on his website thanking fans for their support.

Sunday night saw Timberlake reunite (albeit briefly) with ‘N Sync, perform a 15-minute solo set, and win the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, pretty much cementing his place in the music industry as the new Prince of Pop.

Justin Timberlake quietly retired after the show, forgoing excessive self-celebration in the press room amd excessive partying with other music luminaries, to get in immediate touch with his fans, the life’s blood of his incredibly successful career.

“The last time I wrote you an open letter, it was in January and I promised that it would be a ‘Big 2013,'” he wrote.

“Since then, from the Grammys to the release of the first part of “The 20/20 Experience” to the crowd’s response at the VMAs, it’s been a wild ride. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. This letter is to tell you that we’re not done…Not even close.”

Timberlake announced that the 20/20 Experience Part 2 would arrive on September 30.

“Since all these songs were written together over a year ago, it’s been so hard to wait this long to release them,” he admitted in the letter. “I can’t wait for all of you to hear ‘The 20/20 Experience’ in full.”

“This is too much fun,” he closed.
