Danity Kane Reunites At 2013 VMAs

Danity Kane is officially back together, though the group is noticeably one member short. While D. Woods won’t be back with the group, she appeared very supportive of them.

The girl group was put together by Diddy in 2005 during the show Making the Band. And they appeared on the red carpet Sunday night for the 2013 Video Music Awards.

The group now consists of Aubrey, Aundrea, Dawn, and Shannon, who made a preview on Aubrey’s Instagram account.

Us Weekly notes that, in lieu of her rejoining Danity Kane, D. Woods released a statement, saying, “Much love to the ladies of DK!! They have decided to reunite and I, like our amazing fans, will be cheering them on.”

The group released its first album in 2006 and another in 2008. However, they announced their split in 2009. But the girls stated on the red carpet Sunday, “We’re baaaack!”

MTV notes that the group’s first song will be called “Rage,” and they are embarking this time without the help of Diddy. At the time of their break up, Dawn Richards commented that it was O’Day and Woods who decided to defect from the group.

Richards explained, “You’ll see me and Drea try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season’s show] — pieces that we didn’t even make. We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves.”

Richards added that Diddy invited them all to come back for the season. However, “Only two of us showed up.” But it appears that Aubrey O’Day is on board this time around. The last four standing tweeted out the announcement ahead of the VMAs, but their on-carpet reunion was the best confirmation Danity Kane fans could have expected.

Only time will tell if the four remaining ladies of Danity Kane stick together this time around. No date has been set for a new album.
