Joey Fatone’s Dad Maybe Spilled Secret ‘N Sync Reunion Deets

Joey Fatone’s dad dished a big secret, if true, to an online gossip site — alleging that ‘N Sync will reunite at the VMAs.

The other Joey Fatone, Joseph Fatone, Sr., tells RadarOnline that his son’s arrival at JFK Thursday indeed was for a ‘N Sync reunion.

Joey Fatone was “smirking” when he was papped at the NYC airport, and refused to dish on whether he and the boys are getting the band back together… along with megastar and former ‘N Sync member Justin Timberlake.

But dad Joey Fatone was less concerned with keeping the alleged reunion under wraps, telling the site that not only is ‘N Sync going to perform at the VMAs, but that he thinks it’s pretty silly.

” ‘I think it’s exciting,’ Fatone tells RadarOnline.com exclusively, reiterating, ‘… they’re doing a performance,’ as opposed to simply presenting… Fatone confirmed that his son consulted him on the decision to reunite with his bandmates — albeit for one night only. ‘I couldn’t even say why he’s doing it though,’ Fatone says. ‘Why, at this point in his life. Now he’s his own man.’ ”

Thank you, older Joey Fatone, for confirming to the rest of us that even if we were rocking a VMA stage in front of millions of adoring fans, our parents would still question our career choices. Fatone did not speculate on whether his son should at least get a haircut, lest he appear as if he just rolled out of bed.

If Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake are reuniting ‘N Sync for one night, it would probably go over pretty well. Fellow early aughts band the Backstreet Boys have been having a moment of late, and the band not only sold out arenas worldwide — they also did a hugely amusing cameo in the recent Seth Rogan apocalypse film.
