Elisabeth Hasselbeck Joins Fox News On September 16

Elisabeth Hasselbeck joins the team at Fox & Friends starting Monday, September 16. News of Hasselbeck’s start date was announced by Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming for Fox News.

Unlike her time on The View when she spent most of the time chatting with female co-hosts, this time around Hasselbeck will interview newsmakers, politicians, celebrities, and more.

Elisabeth will join the Fox & Friends cast on the very day a redesigned set is introduced to viewers.

Hasselbeck joins a veteran cast that includes Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeads. Those co-hosts have been hosting the show since 1998.

The co-host announced in July that she was leaving The View to pursue a new opportunity with Fox TV.

Earlier in the summer Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said of Hasselbeck joining the morning news and talk team:

“Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View, She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist, and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”

Just like The Today Show, Good Morning America, and other morning shows Fox & Friends follows a formulaic approach to morning show broadcasting. Along with interviews the show features musical performances, stunts, weather reports, and much more.

In the meantime Jenny McCarthy has taken over for Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Joy Behar has also ditched The View and Barbara Walters will retire next year.

Do you think Elisabeth Hasselbeck will make for a good addition to the Fox & Friends team?
