Pop singer Michael Jackson converted to Islam in a ceremony in Los Angeles this week.
An imam was summoned from the mosque and Jackson went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief at the home of Steve Porcaro, a keyboard player who composed music on his Thriller album, according to reports.
He is said to have sat on the floor and worn a small hat while an imam officiated.
Jackson was counselled on converting by David Wharnsby, a Canadian songwriter, and Phillip Bubal, a producer, who have both previously converted to Islam. According to The Sun Yousef Islam, previously Cat Stevens until he converted turned up to help Jackson celebrate.
As part of the conversion, Jackson has also had a name change. The artist and accused child molester formally known as Michael Jackson is now known as Mikaeel, although it wasn’t clear whether he’d gone the Prince route with one name, or has kept his last name, or changed it to something different.

Islam means total submission to only one God (Allah in arabic).By that rule every prophet including Ibahim,Moses,jesus and Muhammad(may Allah peace be upon them all) were muslims.No single prophet including Jesus(PBUH) never claimed that I'm God and worship me.They were all messenger of God.Islam is truth and a true salvation.The sooner you find the truth the better(for you).Lucky are those who find it.Michael Jackson is one of them.So if you are a non believer,make hurry.

Mekhaeel, it's the name of an angel who's been given to serve the entire world with food, water & proserity. No wonder his parents given him micheal which is an english version of mekhaeel… Allah the almighty knows everything. So therefore there's no any other name fits him better than this.. I wish him all the best and “Allah the only one” give you all the peace and a calm life what you mentally wished to lead..
Anyway mekhaeel found the right path, why my non Muslim brothers can't think atleast once in your life before you taste the bitterness of THE DEATH… Your time is not up.. So hurry.

A very big welcome to Mikael, u will not regret ur choice of Islam. Islam is not only a religion it is also the way u live. No alcohol, no free sex, no sodomy, no killing innocence people, believe 5 pillars of islam they are many rules in islam just kept ur faith u will never regret it. For non believers try to read Quran (its translation) hopefully u will find the truth in Islam
