Conan O’Brien Plays ‘Splinter Cell: Blacklist’ [Video]

Conan O’Brien played Splinter Cell: Blacklist in a recent edition of “Clueless Gamer.”

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the latest title in the series that gave us stealth master Sam Fisher, the man in black with the telltale three light night vision. President Patricia Caldwell has eliminated his previous team of Echelon Three, creating a super-secret Echelon Four and assigning our hero the duty of taking out a terrorist organization known only as “The Engineers,” as they threaten an attack on US soil every week.

The video in which late-night show host Conan O’Brien plays Splinter Cell: Blacklist begins with the red-haired comedian looking at the camera:

“This is very exciting. Today we’re getting a sneak peak at a very popular game, Splinter Cell: Blacklist. I wanted to take this very seriously, so I brought in somebody who’s a real fan of this particular game. Say hello to J. Cole. He’s Emmy, no, Grammy nominated. Soon, you haven’t won an Emmy.”

J. Cole laughs as Conan O’Brien continues, “Those are career death, I have won. It killed me. Do you know this game?”

J. Cole replies, “Yeah, I played it in college, that was a long time ago. I don’t know this game.”

Conan O’Brien comments, “You played the old version. It was just two Pac-Men, a very crude version.”

The gameplay portion starts where Conan O’Brien plays Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and he and J. Cole sit before a large screen as the game’s menu is being displayed. Conan O’Brien says, “I sense this is one of those ones where we’re gonna start off with a film that tells us the story.”

J. Cole turns and asks, “How’d you know that?”

Conan O’Brien replies, “Because every single one of these games starts with a 40 minute film.”

They cut to the gameplay, where J. Cole comments on a group of men with rifles sneaking into a hallway, “So this is like the terrorist group.”

Conan O’Brien responds, “They’re dressed as soldiers. I hate that, that’s cheating.”
