Vin Diesel Wants To Make Two More ‘Riddick’ Movies

It doesn’t appear that Vin Diesel is planning to take a break anytime soon. According to the actor, he wants to make at least two more Riddick movies.

The Fast and Furious 6 star originally brought the character to life in director David Twohy’s 2000 sci-fi flick Pitch Black. If the latest installment of the series performs well at the box office, then fans might have a few more sequels looming on the cinematic horizon.

During his chat with SFX, Vin Diesel was asked about the possibility of another Riddick movie. The busy actor revealed that Twohy and crew are definitely interested in putting together another sequel.

“We don’t turn our backs on the mythology that we planted in the last movie. And we are actually bringing Karl [Urban] back for a few days of filming to advance it and lay the groundwork for movie four,” Diesel explained to the website.

He continued, “It does play in a gratifying way as a standalone movie, but there are threads that we continue to sew that we started in previous movies and will continue in future movies.”

The Riddick star also discussed where future installments may take the character. Vin Diesel said the Underverse will be explored at some point down the road.

“You’ll have to go through the Underverse to get to Furya. Those are the two stories that are mapped out,” he said.

Before Diesel begins work on the next installments of the Chronicles of Riddick series, the actor will help out with the next Fast and Furious sequel. He is also slated to voice Groot in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Diesel has the big-screen adaptation of Kojak in the works as well.
