The Calling Singer Alex Band Discusses Abduction

Alex Band, the lead singer of The Calling, has been discussing being beaten and abducted at gun point, revealing that they demanded his “Hollywood money.”

Band revealed that he was taken on Sunday morning, while he walked from his hotel room in Michigan, where he was visiting for a local music festival, to a mini-mart at 4 am. He was then beaten and left on train tracks.

Band’s injuries included a mild concussion, 15 stitches to heal a wound in his chin, a fractured bone in his lower back, and a lost tooth.

The singer told ABC News,“It’s a horrifying feeling being held down and being helpless like that. I’ve never been in a fight in my life. I’ve never been hit. It sounds ridiculous but it’s true.”

He then added, “This was not just being hit. It was being blown to the head.”

Band was also forced to deny that his ordeal was actually a hoax, as the events coincide with the band’s recent revelation that they had reconciled after eight years apart.

The 32-year-old admitted that he cried for the men to spare his life, and they actually only let him go once he revealed that he is set to become a dad.

Band added, “He held the gun to my forehead and held me out of the door like that and that’s when I said, ‘I just found out a few weeks ago that I’m going to be a dad. You do not need to go to the extent of killing me and making a child not have a father’.”

His heartfelt words apparently did the trick, because the assailant then told Band that it was his “lucky day” before kicking him out of the car and driving away.

Band admitted that the men took his ID, credit cars, and wallet, which had around £1,200 inside.
