Lindsay Lohan Plays ‘Fetch’ After White House ‘Mean Girls’ Joke

Even Lindsay Lohan can appreciate a good Mean Girls joke.

The troubled actress is working hard to improve her image after completing a 90-day court-ordered stay in rehab. Not only is she preparing for an eight-part reality series based on her big comeback, she’s also cracking jokes with the White House on Twitter.

The Mean Girls reference arrived in the form of a Presidential tweet issued earlier this week. The post featured a photo of Bo Obama, the First Family’s adorable Portuguese Water Dog. However, it was the tweet’s unexpected caption that caught everyone’s attention.

“Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen,” the White House wrote. It was actually kind of cute.

Not surprisingly, the tweet was a pretty big hit with fans of the 2004 comedy. Trying to explain the joke doesn’t really work, so have a look at the clip embedded below if you’re curious to know what it’s all about.

It didn’t take very long for Lindsay Lohan to discover the Mean Girls reference on Twitter. After putting together a piece of digital artwork featuring both her and Bo Obama, the actress responded with a tweet of her own.

“We can make fetch happen anytime Bo! Sending love to your mom, dad, and sisters,” she tweeted.

Lindsay Lohan is currently on a quest to improve her image following a string of peculiar career choices and serious personal problems. However, it seems the actress is trying her best to get things going in the right direction once again.

To kick things off, the Mean Girls star’s chat with Oprah Winfrey is slated to air this Sunday. In addition to launching her own website, Lohan recently earned rave reviews from the cast and crew of HBO’s hit comedy Eastbound and Down. It’s not hard to get excited about the possibility of a comeback.

As someone who writes a lot of celebrity pieces, it’s nice to have something good to report for a change. Although an exchange with the White House may seem pointless, it suggests that Lohan is at least trying to inject something positive into her life. Let’s talk about that for a while.

Here’s her response to the White House tweet.
