Hugh Jackman Denies $100 Million ‘Wolverine’ Deal Rumor

Rumors about Hugh Jackman’s possible return to The Wolverine broke online this week and had the internet abuzz believing that Fox was trying to lure him back for $100 million.

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. People want to see more of the handsome Aussie, but Jackman is ready to hang up his hat.

In an exclusive interview with EW, Jackman addresses the rumors,

No it’s not true. I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here. I’m in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out.

Hugh Jackman is referring to filming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the highly anticipated sequel to be released in 2014.

If you think about it, this rumor is truly baseless. Jackman is supposedly being hounded by the studios to sign a deal for four more Wolverine movies, which would be worth millions.

Right now Jackman is 44-years-old, so how old will he be when the movies are finished with production? Think about it. It doesn’t make sense.

Even though he looks in incredible shape for the films, there is no denying the physical conditioning to get ready to play Wolverine is brutal and the actor would be completely right in wanting nothing to do with that part of it.

Although, the consummate performer, Jackman has gone to great lengths, in the past, to make his roles as credible as possible as we saw with Les Mis, which earned him an Oscar nomination and much praise.

Lets give the guy a break from busting his chops training for Wolverine, shall we? Hugh Jackman is ready to stop. For now we look forward to seeing him in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
