Jiang Wu Drunkenly Mistakes Container For B&B, Almost Shipped To US

A drunk Chinese man was almost shipped to United States on a cargo ship, after he mistook a container for a bed and breakfast in his intoxicated manner.

Jiang Wu was supposed to be staying at a Bed & Breakfast in Qingdao, Eastern China, and was so drunk after an incredibly wild night out near the city that he drunkenly mistook a shipping container for the establishment, before falling asleep inside.

The next morning, Mr Wu, woke up, incredibly hungover, and realised that the container that he had used for a night’s rest was now aboard a cargo ship that was set to embark on a two-week voyage to Los Angeles.

However, when he finally got onto his feet and tried to exit the huge container he found that it was locked and he was actually sealed inside. Mr Wu then took out his mobile phone and tried to call everyone that he knew, including the police department, and they then arrived on the scene to save him from the arduous journey.

A police spokesman, according to Fairfax NZ News, remarked, “His problem was, though, that he couldn’t tell us which container he was in and there were thousands of them stacked on top of each other.”

Mr Wu then decided to take the matter into his own hands and started to bang repeatedly on the side of the crate in an attempt to get anybody’s attention. However, he was finally rescued when police were able to locate his cargo, which was stacked 60 feet high.

A docker, who was working on the container heading to the United States of America, told the Daily Star that Wu was incredibly lucky to have been rescued, stating, “He’s very lucky. If he’d been asleep for another hour the next stop would have been America.”

What’s the worst hangover you’ve ever had?
