Lisa Kudrow Tricked By Friends Hoax

Lisa Kudrow may not be as flighty as her character Phoebe, but the star still managed to be taken in by a recent web rumor that suggested a (not happening) Friends reunion.

While Lisa Kudrow is one-sixth of the 90s most famous TV clique, she thought she’d been passed over for the big movie get together.

Last month, she explained that for a minute, she believed internet scuttlebutt about the rumored Friends reunion, joking:

“OK, first of all. The graphic for this one thing was unbelievable. It looked really real. And then they were posting this article and the headline was like, ‘NBC Confirms 5 out of 6 of the Friends Are In,’ and I went, ‘Oh my God. They didn’t ask me’.”

Is it just us, or is that exactly the kind of imagined abandonment Phoebe would sometimes reveal? But perceived slights aside, Kudrow has been working hard lately — and sat down in a Vanity Fair Hollywood video to discuss her career.

Asked about traits she’d like to change, Kudrow jokes:

“My greatest achievement is my family, my son and my husband. I’m still married and my son is a very nice person. That’s not actually just my achievement, is it?… The one thing I’d change about myself is that I’d stop taking credit for absolutely everything.”

Kudrow also commented on the Friends reunion rumors, adding:

“A Friends reunion? How sad. That was a rumor that started, I remember, our first interview the day after it wrapped, that was the first question I was asked, ‘So is there going to be a reunion?’ It started then and it hasn’t stopped… I do remember my audition for Friends, it was a monologue where I say, ‘You know how your mom tries to commit suicide and your dad ends up in jail, and you end up living in a car like a homeless albino’. It was that Phoebe monologue I did in audition.”

Was Lisa Kudrow your favorite “Friend?”
