Bobby Dale Earnhardt Says DUI Was ‘Terrible Mistake’

Bobby Dale Earnhardt, grandson of the late great Dale Earnhardt, has publicly addressed his DUI arrest.

The 25-year-old son of Kerry Earnhardt Bobby Dale Earnhardt is the nephew of Dale Jr. Monday night, the younger Earnhardt was pulled over by a cop in Charleston, West Virginia after his tires squealed on a turn at a high rate of speed.

Earnhardt was suspected of driving drunk, and his blood alcohol level was.193, more than twice the legal limit. He was charged with first-offense driving under the influence, which carries possible jail time and fines.

Over on Facebook, Bobby Dale Earnhardt didn’t make excuses for his behavior — like a good boy, he owned straight up to the bad behavior and asked fans for forgiveness.

He wrote:

“I wanted to let you all know I made a terrible mistake last night drinking and driving and I am thankful nothing bad happened from my stupidity and I know It could have.”

The aspiring racing star continues:

“I’m sorry for letting all my fans friends and family down and Ihope I can make it up to each and everyone of you and in the future be a good role model. I will continue to move forward with my racing career and I hope I continue to have your support thanks.”

One post in reply appears to be from his mom, and it reads:

“Son I know you made a mistake and I hope you have learn a very important lesson I love you so much and I will always be your biggest fan ever. I will always be here for you no matter it like they all have said everyone makes mistakes I know I have the thing is that you learn from it and don’t let it happen again love you always your mom first your best friend second and your fan third. Love ya baby.”

Another replied:

“Carolyn, I’m sure Bobby will be fine. He seems like a very nice, caring and hard working young man. He just made a mistake and we all do that. Just be there for him and stick to being mom first and friend second. I know, I’ve raised four. I admire the way he’s going about racing. It would easy for him to say he’s an Earnhardt and try to use that, instead he’s doing it the hard way. I look forward to seeing him racing his brother and uncle someday.”

Bobby Dale Earnhardt spent the night in jail after his DUI, but as he said, he hopes the arrest won’t affect his racing prospects.
