‘Man Of Steel 2’: Bryan Cranston Definitely Interested In Lex Luthor Role

With all of the news surrounding who will or won’t play Batman in Man of Steel 2 (aka Superman vs. Batman), most folks seem to have forgotten about poor Lex Luthor.

The Inquisitr previously reported that both Mark Strong and Bryan Cranston were in the running for the role of Superman’s archenemy. Although neither party has coughed up any concrete details just yet, the Breaking Bad star definitely seems interested in the part.

Cranston recently sat down with Digital Spy to discuss the final season of his hit AMC series. When asked about the Lex Luthor role in Man of Steel 2, the actor definitely seemed interested in giving it a shot. After all, the guy already knows how to rock a bald head.

“Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man,” he explained.

While this is far from a confirmation, at least Bryan Cranston definitely seems interested in the gig. However, one person who may not be quite so enthusiastic is his wife. According to the actor, she wasn’t exactly a fan of the Walter White’s look. As Cranston puts it, a “bald head ages a man.”

Acclaimed actor Mark Strong is also reportedly up for the role of Lex Luthor in Man of Steel 2. While his response was a bit more vague, he didn’t deny the rumors. Strong gives really intense performances, which would make him a great candidate for the role of the iconic villain.

As of this writing, the role of Batman has yet to be cast. Everyone from Ryan Gosling to Josh Brolin has been mentioned at one point or another, so it’s hard to tell who Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have in mind. There’s also a possibility that Christian Bale might portray the Dark Knight one more time.

Are you looking forward to Man of Steel 2? Do you think Bryan Cranston and Mark Strong are good choices to play the villainous Lex Luthor?
