Does Deborra-Lee Furness make Hugh Jackman great?
Australian actor Hugh Jackman has been named the sexiest man alive by People Magazine, but interestingly it’s Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness that has been getting a lot of the attention.
Australian actress Deborra-Lee Furness is either 48 or 53 depending on which version of her date of birth you read (and oddly the exact date is usually not mentioned), making her significantly older than Jackman. Her history doesn’t narrow down the date either: according to some reports, she graduated from Methodist Ladies’ College in Melbourne in 1973, so either she left school at a very young age, or she was born in 1955, meaning she would have been 18 when she graduated (which is the usual age for Year 12 in Australia). She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York and graduated in 1981, although her first television appearance was in 1975, and she appeared on the Australian series Prisoner (Cell Block H in the UK) in 1979.
Deborra-Lee Furness met Jackman on the set of the Australian series Correlli in 1995, and the couple married in February 1996. But here’s what makes her special, at least according to my wife, who I’m going to paraphrase

Hugh Jackman loves Deborra-Lee Furness (inside and out) and I think they will be together til the end… People tend to forget that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” and I'm sure Hugh looks at Deborra through different eyes than the critics do. I think she's a beautiful lady!!! I'm glad People Magazine finally picked a man worthy of the title “Sexiest Man Alive!” Love ya Hugh!!!

I just love this stuff. I have been dating a guy that is more than 13 years younger than I. He is hot and smart. I sometimes feel sooo insecure, but when I'm around him, all that changes.

Whole heartedly! i just told my teen age daughter that life is not fair! She must be pretty special because he is a fine catch! I guess you are right, it does give hope to those of us that are not the America's Next Top Model type. She does appear to be a real woman and not just some little bit of fluff stick figure!

I cant believe what Im reading two people genuinely find love together and just because one of the couple isnt everyones idea of the proper age or the proper look we all talk like its doomed and its a miracle shes managed to nab him. Deborra sounds like a wonderful person and I hope they will be happy for a long time to come, its sounds like to me that they were both lucky to find each other.

Besides they are married for 14 yrs now. And more, she probably made him feel special all the way even when he wasn't a big star yet. She also certainly gives him a busy sex life, which it's perfectly understandable.

She seems to me to be a lovely lady and I'm sure she brings a lot to their relationship. I have a feeling that Hugh is probably just as lucky as she is.

“It proves that ordinary people have a chance” …to obtain an extraordinarily good-looking guy/movie star? Well if you truly value the “inside beauty” or great personality, why bother thinking about getting a handsome man who can possibly make you feel insecure?
I think she's OK looking – but she at least made Hugh and Mick ask for a date! Mr Jackman and Mr Jaggar! World's top class popular men! She must have such a strong attraction. Plus, she was 40 yrs old at the point of 1995! (of course 40 yrs old can be so sexy too tho)

Dear, dear, watch a lot of very jealous bitchy comments on here, and to say that she isn't beautiful – typical american comment, he has always said how much he loves his wife, Pierce Brosnan is also married to someone who isn't the typical Hollywood type, but he loves her as well! You only have to look in the papers to see that some of the most beautiful looking women in Hollywood (or so their publicity tells us) can't keep a man interested, hence the amount of divorces and 'playing away', so what does that say?
