Chloe Grace Moretz Discusses ‘Carrie’ Reshoots

Chloe Grace Moretz is an extremely busy girl these days. Not only is she gearing up for the release of Kick-Ass 2, the actress revealed that she recently did some reshoots for the upcoming Carrie remake.

Many fans were extremely disappointed to learn that the horror flick was getting bumped into the later half of 2013. However, Moretz said director Kimberly Peirce used this time to put together some additional material for the flick.

“We actually prolonged the film, to be honest. We did some reshoots and added three extra scenes with Julianne and I to make the movie even deeper and darker. We prolonged a couple of scenes that needed to have an extra moment or an extra beat just to make it even deeper,” she told Fangoria.

Some fans were deeply concerned that Screen Gems and Sony Pictures were cutting the film down in order to secure a more teen-friendly PG-13 rating. However, Chloe Grace Moretz insists the delay will only make the feature stronger.

“It wasn’t about cutting anything out or trying to edit around things; it was about adding more to make the movie scarier and more intense,” the actress said.

Based on the novel by horror maestro Stephen King, Carrie tells the story of a teenage girl (Moretz) who discovers that she has telekinetic powers. The extent of her abilities is put on-display after she is relentlessly bullied by her classmates.

Actress Julianne Moore will tackle the role of Carrie’s mentally unstable mother in Peirce’s version of Carrie. The character was previously brought to life by Piper Laurie in director Brian De Palma’s classic 1976 adaptation.

Before you catch the new version of Carrie in theaters, don’t forget to check out the young actress in writer-director Jeff Wadlow’s Kick-Ass 2. The film hits theaters on August 16.
