Brad Penny and Karina Smirnoff Engaged

“Dancing with the Stars” regular Karina Smirnoff and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Brad Penny are to tie the knot with news that the glamor couple are now engaged.

According to reports, Brad Penny proposed to Karina Smirnoff on October 4 with a 4.5-carat Asscher-cut diamond.

The couple decided to keep the engagement news hidden, as both wanted to surprise their families. “We kept it quiet because my family is in New York and Brad’s family is in Oklahoma so we kind of wanted them to come out and celebrate and be a family first before we let the cat out of the bag,” Smirnoff told People Magazine.

On the wedding plans, Smirnoff said “I want a destination wedding where everyone can go to Cabo…We’re thinking January the seventh.”

Brad Penny and Karina Smirnoff have been dating since October 2009.
