‘We’re The Millers’ Opens Strong With $6.7 Million

Jennifer Aniston’s new raunchy comedy We’re The Millers is off to a strong start bringing in $6.7 million for Wednesday night.

The film opened on Wednesday and the numbers are good for the R-rated film so far.

Aniston and company are on track to rack $30 million for its first five days, which would be a good start since the film had a budget of $40 million.

This is a busy weekend at the box office and it’s a close call as to who will come up on top.

Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters opened together with Millers on Wednesday and had a $5.4 million showing.

The Logan Lerman fantasy adventure film is expected to make anywhere between $20 million and $35 million. Looks like it might end up right in the middle with about $25 million

Percy Jackson had a budget of $90 million, so there is more pressure for a better showing.

We’re The Millers opened in 3,260 locations and despite poor reviews from critics and a dismal 34 percent from Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a A- Cinemascore rating from moviegoers.

On Friday, two other films add to the weekend busy roster, the Disney animated spoof of Cars, Planes and the sci-fi action packed Elysium with heavy hitters Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.

We’re The Millers is the story a pot dealer played by Jason Sudeikis, who must enlist a stripper (Aniston), a homeless girl (Emma Roberts), and the nerdy neighbor (Will Poulter), to pose as his family while he tries to smuggle drugs across the Mexican border.

Jennifer Aniston’s striptease in the movie has been slammed by some film critics and the actress has received less than flattering comments about her age and sexuality.

Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter called the 44-yer-old’s disrobing one of the least convincing strippers in cinematic history.

The studio is banking on the highly publicized racy scene to bring in not only women, but men to fill seats this weekend.

Will go to watch We’re The Millers this weekend?
