Desiree Hartsock: Chris Siegfried Always The One, Was Whole Brooks Romance Faked?

Desiree Hartsock has acknowledged that Chris Siegfried was never her second choice on The Bachelorette 2013. She even said she’d be willing to marry him tomorrow. That’s sweet and all.

But it raises the question of just how much the entire so-called reality TV show was actually scripted. Was there ever any genuine love interest between Hartsock and Brooks Forester at all?

In the Tuesday morning Good Morning America interview in Times Square, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried appeared for an extended discussion of the emotional The Bachelorette finale.

I’ve posted the video up top. Now I’d like to draw your attention to the segment starting at about 3:30 in.

That’s where Siegfried admits that he and Desiree Hartsock had an agreement with each other that he wouldn’t watch the segments she filmed with Forester.

“We initially talked about watching episodes and how we would handle that for our relationship going forward…We decided it would be best just to watch the segments that we shared together.”

And that tells me that they already knew how they felt about each other. But they also knew that it’s better television if she simulates an interest in somebody else.

“Brooks and I are friends,” he added.

They’re not going to come out and spell it out for you in words of one syllable. But, folks, let’s get real.

Am I saying that I now believe that there was never any genuine spark between Brooks Forester and Desiree Hartsock? That I suspect the whole falling in love and getting dumped story to be a script from beginning to end?

I guess I am.

Reality TV actors are still actors. And reality TV producers still have to come up with gimmicks to keep the viewers watching.

The Bachelorette was getting pretty durn boring. I even complained about the tedious meet the parents episode for The Inquisitr.

Then Brooks dumped Desiree. And so-called spoiler leaker Reality Steve loudly claimed against all evidence that Brooks would somehow be coming back from the dead.

And then suddenly everybody was talking about The Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock, and Chris Siegfried. Well played, ABC.
