Batman: YouTube’s Most Popular Superhero According To Geek Week Analysis

Batman is the undisputed king of YouTube.

In honor of Geek Week, YouTube researched which superheros are the most popular on the world’s No. 1 video sharing site. Per YouTube:

“If YouTube popularity can determine who’ll win in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie, your views and uploads put Batman as the clear winner. Based on keyword searches, Batman is the most popular of all superheroes on YouTube, with more than 3 billion views of 71,000 hours of video.”

Following Batman are Thor, who has a new film coming out soon, and boasts 2.1 billion views and 66,000 hours of video. Superman is third with 1.7 billion views and 14,000 hours of video.

Iron Man, reigning champ of the box office, is fourth. Following the top four are The Avengers, Wolverine, Spider Man, Captain America, Justice League and Deadpool in that order.

Thor, Iron Man and The Avengers have shuffled since 2008 on the top 10 list, but Batman has always been the reigning champ, with most views attributed to the trailer for the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises.

That clip is the most popular Batman-related video with over 32 million views.

Next up for Batman is an Epic Rap Battles of History video featuring Batman vs. Sherlock Holmes. That has over 29 million views, and you can add to its war chest by watching it above.

According to YouTube, the top 10 superheroes have claimed more than 10 billion views and are the subjects of over 234,000 videos.
