Rich Kids Of Instagram Get A Reality Series

The Rich Kids Of Instagram are moving off of social media and onto television.

The Rich Kids Of Instagram is a Tumblr page that takes a look at how some of the wealthiest kids spend their money. Or, to borrow the page’s description, “Rich Kids Of Instagram is curated window into the world of privileged youth.”

The Tumblr page has inspired E! to develop the tentatively-titled Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills, an unscripted series that revolves around a group of 20-something friends whose excessive lifestyle first gained attention on Instagram. The Rich Kids are the “offspring of the most elite families and billionaire moguls,” such as model Stephanie Seymour’s son, Peter Brant II, and Mitt Romney’s granddaughter, Allie. Others include Baron Hilton and Dell CEO Michael Dell’s daughter, Alexa.

According to Deadline, the series will be produced by ITV Studios America in association with Leepson Bounds Entertainment.

According to The Atlantic, a representative for the Tumblr page said they are not associated with the series.

Not all of the Rich Kids Of Instagram featured on the Tumblr page are intentionally flaunting their excessive lifestyles. Annabel Schwartz, whose Saint-Tropez vacation photos were shared online, said she was embarrassed to find her pictures on the site. However, the 19-year-old also said she was ashamed of being wealthy.

“My friends and I don’t want to be associated with this…. This is very embarrassing…. We all grew up quite nicely but I don’t want to be embarrassed by the fact that I can enjoy myself in Saint-Tropez,” she said. “Everyone here considers themselves to be a lot more substantial than their father’s credit card. I’m a fashion designer. My girlfriend goes to Cornell. I don’t want to be represented by my money and my vacation experiences.”
