David Beckham Offered Role In The Secret Service

David Beckham looks set to star in the new film from Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director, Matthew Vaughn, after he was offered a role in The Secret Service.

The soccer legend has been offered a cameo role in the movie, because Vaughn is looking to boost the project’s profile, and a source told The Sun, “Becks was asked by Colin Firth if he’d like to be in the movie but he is yet to fully commit. He loves movies and fancies appearing on the big screen – but just as a one-off, not a full-time career.”

The Secret Service is an adaptation of the graphic novel with the same name that was written by Kick-Ass creator, Mark Millar. Colin Firth stars as a secret agent who is forced to join forces with Taron Egerton’s new spy, whilst Michael Caine will play the head of the spy organisation and Samuel L Jackson will play the movie’s villain.

Last month, Sir Elton John was linked to the movie, after it was alleged that he was in line to make a cameo in the movie during a huge fight scene.

Another insider told The Sun, “The Secret Service is going to be a big British movie so Matthew wants to include some iconic British stars. He wants to turn the films into a franchise, so getting big name on board will help boost its profile. Seeing Elton fighting will be movie gold. He’s a great addition.”

Vaugn is also apparently looking to use the acting talents of Star Wars actor Mark Hamill and the infamous director, Ridley Scott, who has helmed the likes of The Gladiator and Blade Runner, are also set to appear in the fight scene too.
