Bloodhound Gang Flees Russia After Flag Prank [Video]

The Bloodhound Gang hasn’t really been in the music conversation for the last decade or so but bass player Jared Hasselhoff managed to put the band back on the map this weekend by desecrating a Russian flag.

Unfortunately, the incident also left the Bloodhound Gang with one less country that wants to hear their music.

The Age reports that the band was performing in the Ukraine when Hasselhoff decided that it would be a good idea to stick a Russian flag down his pants. The Age reports that the bassist put the flag down the front of his pants and then pulled it out the back.

The crowd wasn’t too happy with the stunt but the sh*t really didn’t hit the fan until a YouTube video went viral in Russia. The band was scheduled to play at the Kubana Festival this week but fans chased them out of the country.

And that’s not a figure of speech. Spin reports that fans literally chased the Bloodhound Gang van down the street and hurled eggs and tomatoes at them. If that wasn’t enough, Russia’s minister of culture, Vladimir Medinsky, took to Twitter to ban the band from playing in Russia.

Medinsky took to Twitter and wrote: “These idiots are not going to perform (in Russia again).”

But it isn’t all bad news for the Bloodhound Gang. I mean, if it wasn’t for this incident no one would be talking about them. So yay?

Here’s a video of the incident.
