‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’: Casting Calls For Lead Roles Go Out


Fifty Shades Of Grey is one of the most highly anticipated adaptations in recent years and now casting calls are going out for the lead roles.

Universal Pictures is announcing that they are seeking male and female actors for the main roles of Anastasia Steel and Christian Grey, the protagonists of the story.

The movie will be based on the popular novel of the same name by E.L. James, who has retained creative control by selling its rights to Universal, she is also producing the film.

There has been speculation from all corners as to who would play the main roles, especially that of Christian Grey.

Names such as Henry Cavill (Man Of Steel). Matt Bomer (White Collar), Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) among others have come up.

According to the website Acting Audtions.org, any rumors about casting for Fifty Shades is false.

The casting director has reviewed submissions sent by agents and are now opening up casting for the general public in hopes to finding the perfect actors for the roles.

The only official announcement regarding cast and crew is that of director Sam Taylor-Johnson, formerly known as Taylor-Wood. Michael De Luca, who is currently producing Dracula and Dana Brunetti are producers.

The film will be distributed by Universal and Focus Features. The film has an August 24, 2014 tentative release date.

Fifty Shades follows the steamy relationship that takes place when college graduate Anastasia Steele meets business man Christian Grey and is characterized by their explicit sex scenes.

De Luca is looking for women between the ages of 20-25 to play Anastasia and men between 25-33 years-old to play Chrisitan Grey.

Fifty Shades Of Grey casting news can’t come to soon for those who have been waiting for this adaptation. The books have sold more than 70 million copies worldwide.
