Drunk Passenger Tries To Kick Pigeon, Falls Onto Train Track Instead [Video]

The antics of drunken train passengers in Great Britain have been highlighted in a new safety campaign, and one intoxicated individual even attempts to kick a pigeon before falling onto the train tracks below.

At these 17 railway stations, each of which are run by the National Rail, over 1,600 individuals have been hurt in incidents. Most of them revolve around passengers who drunk after long spells of boozing.

Other people that you see injured include a man who is leaning out of a moving train and then falls down the gap between the platform and the train. Another man can be seen repeatedly falling down an upward moving escalator as he attempts to stand back up.

The accidents, which have occurred over the last 12 months, have resulted in 19 dislocations, five concussions, 51 bone fractures, as well as one death, plus a plethora of cuts, abrasions, bruises, as people have tripped over escalators, steps, luggage and off platforms.

Paul Crowther, the British Transport Police Deputy Chief Constable, remarked, “Somewhat inevitably, drinking alcohol can impair people’s judgment and co-ordination.Encouraging passengers to be more aware of their surroundings, particularly when they have had a drink, and to be alert to the inherent dangers that exist in stations will, we hope, reduce avoidable slips and falls across the network.”

Robin Gisby, the managing director for National Rail, stated, “We do everything we can to make moving around our stations as easy and safe as possible but our teams deal with far too many people who have injured themselves where it appears alcohol has been a factor.”

The most dangerous train stations in England are in Leeds, and at Liverpool Street and Paddington in London. This campaign has been blazoned across posters and a video has been uploaded to YouTube too. You can view the clip above.
