Apple Debuts 11.6 Inch Macbook Air


Apple wants you to downsize your Macbook Air. Steve Jobs at the Mac Live Event today announced the 11.6-inch Macbook Air, a system that starts at $999 and offers the same thin design of the original 13.3 inch unit.

The 11.6-inch unit offers a dual-core 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (upgradeable to 1.6GHz) that sits with a maximum screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution.

For $999 users receive a 64GB SSD model while the 128GB version comes in at $1,199.

The unit also offers a unibody aluminum construction design and come equipped iwth 2GB and 4GB DDR3 RAM upgrade options and a NVIDIA GeForce 320M. The NVIDIA option however cuts battery life down to 5 hours. [via Engadget]
