Matt Damon Suits Up In New ‘Elysium’ Clip [Video]

Matt Damon wakes up with a brand new suit of armor in the latest clip from Elysium.

The latest cinematic endeavor from District 9 director Neill Blomkamp finds the talented actor portraying a man living in a dystopian future who only has a couple of days left to live. In order to stay alive, he must infiltrate a space station known as Elysium.

In order to get past all of the security systems, Matt Damon’s character is outfitted with a complete suit of armor. Instead of slipping into a dressing room and zipping up, the guy has an exoskeleton surgically grafted onto his body. You can see the aftermath of the procedure in the embedded clip.

Neill Blomkamp’s latest sci-fi flick has a number of talented individuals working in front of the camera. In addition to Damon, the movie features Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, and District 9 star Sharlto Copley.

In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max, an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt and her hard-line forces — but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.
