Kidd Kraddick Died Of Brain Aneurysm, Reports Say

Kidd Kraddick died of a brain aneurysm, reports Monday say about the sudden passing of the radio legend.

Kraddick was attending a golf tournament in New Orleans on Saturday for his non-profit organization, Kidd’s Kids, when he collapsed and died. The event was to raise money for the group, which sends children with chronic and terminal illnesses on trips to Disney World.

Within hours fans and celebrities left an outpouring of condolences on his Twitter and Facebook pages, even leaving flowers outside his Dallas radio station.

“What’s remarkable about Kidd is that he took that wall that’s always been there between broadcasters and audience and in his show, he completely wiped it out,” said KLUV-FM (98.7) radio host Jody Dean. “You didn’t feel like you were listening to a show. You felt like you were listening to a friend.”

Reports have circulated Monday that Kidd Kraddick died of a brain aneurysm.

Reactions to his unexpected passing continued on Monday, with those close to him remembering Kraddick as a deeply caring man who was supportive of young talent. Both Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato left messages saying Kraddick believed in them when they were both young and unproven.

Lovato wrote: “#RIPKiddKraddick.. Grew up with you always on my radio.. Had the pleasure of meeting you back when I was 9 at a showcase where even way back then, you believed in my talent. Dallas, TX lost a hero tonight and my heart is broken for the KISS FM family. You’re already missed Kidd.. Also, praying for Kidd’s family and friends.. Was a pleasure knowing you for so many years.. #WeLoveYouKidd ???”

Dr. Phil McGraw, a friend of Kraddick, recalled one of the last conversations they shared. Kraddick confided that he was going to propose to his girlfriend soon, showing Dr. Phil the ring.
