Woman Arrested After Burning Dog Alive, Bragging About It Online

A St. Louis woman has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty after she bragged online about burning her dog alive.

On July 9, 35-year-old Adrienne Martin posted on Facebook, “I’m on killa mode… kill dogs… today.” The next day she posted, “I mean what I say and I say what I mean….#alldogsdontgoheaven.com.”

Martin set fire to the 3-year-old shepherd-terrier mix, which was named Brownie by the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, in the backyard of a home on the city’s north side. Brownie was found tied up in the 4300 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue on July 10, and the organization said it tried to save the dog’s life, but he later died from organ failure.

Martin said the dog belonged to her sister-in-law and that he had bit her son, who had to go to the hospital for treatment. She initially denied setting the dog on fire, but later confessed to the crime.

On July 14, Martin posted, “MF’s is killing me about this stupid dog….keep it real…you didn’t take care nor like or love the MF…on the TV str8 lies…#laughingeveryday….stop b*tch..”

Randy Grim, founder of Stray Rescue said, “When I got the call he passed away, all I could do was cry and then pray for the strength to make sure justice is served. This is one of the saddest and worst cases I have ever dealt with.”

Grim added, “That combination of arrogance and evilness is a volatile combination. We’re all safer with her behind bars.”

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, who formed the Animal Cruelty Task Force in October 2012, was horrified by Martin’s crime.

“This demonstrates again that we are serious about this,” Slay said in a statement. “Our Animal Cruelty Task Force will continue to catch and arrest criminals who torture or hurt animals.”

The Animal Cruelty Task Force has made more than two dozen arrests and has investigated more than 100 cases since it was established.

While Grim was glad Martin was arrested for her horrific crime, he was also sad that Brownie didn’t survive the terrible ordeal.

“Today some justice has been served,” Grim said. “It`s not going to bring him back and I wish that he got to experience the love here at Stray Rescue, but at least finally someone was arrested.”

What sentence do you think Adrienne Martin should get for burning Brownie alive?
