Ryan Gosling In Star Wars? Actor’s Rep Denies Rumor

Ryan Gosling is reportedly being considered to play Luke Skywalker’s son in Star Wars: Episode VII.

A rumor circulated earlier this week that the actor had met with the Star Wars production team about starring in the new movie. A rep for the actor told the Huffington Post that “this is not true.”

The Latino Review claimed earlier this week that Gosling and Zac Efron were being considered for the new movie.

The website reads: “As for what role Efron would be playing, we don’t know. He could be a Solo kid. But what I was told for sure is the Gosling went in for Skywalker’s son. Yes, that’s right Luke’s kid.”

The site also claims that Leonardo DiCaprio was being considered for a part in the new movie.

Gosling’s rep has already denied the rumors and DiCaprio has already turned down the role. Efron’s rep hasn’t commented on the rumor yet but since the rumor mill is currently churning out false information I’m guessing that Efron won’t be in the new Star Wars movie either.

The stars of Star Wars: Episode 7 aren’t known yet but news should start being announced soon. Disney has already sent out a casting call and J.J. Abrams recently said that he wanted to start filming as early as this January.

Are you happy that Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron won’t be in Star Wars? Do you think they would have been good in the new movie?
