Randy Moss is a Viking again

The New England Patriots have traded Wide Receiver Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for a third round draft pick. Randy still wants a contract extension but the Vikings may not be so willing to hand that out just yet, but a good year catching balls for the Gunslinger Brett Favre could have Randy ending his NFL career with the team that he began it with.

On the surface this looks to be a very good move for the Vikings, who were in desperate need for a deep threat. Moss can run down the field and Favre can chuck it to him and have him go get it. ON that side of things it should work well. However, this kind of feels like the Vikings are taking a combustible situation and throwing gasoline on it.

Each week we hear rumblings that Favre and Head Coach Brad Childress are at odds with one another. Randy has been able to control himself when in a locker full of veterans. Of course this year in New England he was not in a veteran locker room as the Patriots have gotten a lot younger. I am concerned that Randy got into a confrontation with a coach in New England and what that might mean for the Vikings dressing room.

Favre has create an atmosphere on the Vikings were the star players have no rules, they do not have to answer to Childress because they are stars and the ownership ahs empowered them. I do not see how Moss can go into that situation and not revert to the player he was for the Patriots, Raiders, and the Vikings last time around. This may very well be the final nail in the coffin for a dysfunctional organization.
