Henry Winkler Joins Parks And Recreation Cast

Henry Winkler will guest star on NBC’s Parks And Recreation in season 6, as the father of Jean Ralphio.

Ben Schwartz plays Jean Ralphio in the show, and the comedy legend who shot to fame as Fonzie in Happy Days, before he reached a new audience with his appearance in Arrested Development as Barry Zuckerkorn, the worst lawyer to ever grace a television screen.

The character of Jean Ralphio Saperstein has become a regular on Parks and Recreation after he first appeared in the second season episode, The Set Up.

He is the cocky friend of Tom Haverford, who is played by Aziz Ansari, who thinks that he is a playboy and constantly uses slang terms that he thinks are cool but that are in fact ridiculous.

Last season, we met Jean-Ralphio’s sister, Mona-Lisa, who was played by Jenny Slate, and was as equally as quirky and eccentric as her brother.

Alongside, Winkler, Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Kristen Bell, who also stars alongside Schwartz in House Of Lies, will appear in the sixth season of the show, playing Ingrid who is “a snooty City Councilwoman from Eagleton.”

Ben Schwartz even tweeted the revelation that Winkler had been cast on the show on Tuesday afternoon, stating via his account, @rejectedjokes, “Jean-Ralphio’s father will be played by THE FONZ! (@hwinkler4real) Welcome to the family pop!”

Schwart’s message earned a response from Henry Winkler too, with the actor writing, “@rejectedjokes thank you Ben!!! So many retweets… Gotta follow you now for sure.”

Parks and Recreation will return on Thursday, September 26 at 8 pm on NBC for its sixth season. It’s premiere episode will be an hour long and will include scenes that were filmed in London on location.
