Dana Delany says botched Botox killed facial nerve, caused ‘droopy’ eye

Dana Delany of Desperate Housewives doesn’t seem to have aged too much since her role on China Beach two decades ago.

Delany says, however, that using Botox, the injectible toxin used to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles, has caused permanent damage to her face. The small screen star told Prevention magazine about her bad experience with the popular cosmetic therapy:

“He injected my forehead, hit a nerve, and created a huge hematoma,” she tells the magazine. “The nerve has been dead ever since. It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit.”

The 54-year-old actress acknowledges that the damage may not be visible to everyone, but she’s painfully aware of it:

“I notice it more than anybody else, but I was symmetrical before and now I am not,” she says.

Delany also acknowledged that while she suffered from food-related issues in the past, her job on China Beach helped her focus on work and eliminate unhealthy dietary behaviors.
