Jessica Alba Joins Joe Carnahan’s ‘Stretch’
Jessica Alba has joined the cast of filmmaker Joe Carnahan’s Stretch.
The A-Team director’s latest action flick currently boasts an impressive numbers of talented actors and actresses. Also on-board for the project are Patrick Wilson, Ed Helms, Chris Pine, Brooklyn Decker, James Badge Dale, David Hasselhoff, Ray Liotta, and Shaun Toub.
The Purge and Insidious producer Jason Blum will produce the upcoming endeavor. The flick is touted as a micro-budgeted action flick, though the number of major players attached to the project suggests it’s not going to be a very low-budget affair.
Jessica Alba’s role is being described as supporting, so chances are she won’t have a very large role in the feature. No details about her character have been released just yet.
This is how Universal Pictures is officially describing the flick:
“Stretch” is an action-comedy in which all hell breaks out over the streets of L.A. during one twisted night for one desperate driver. When a limo driver (Wilson) discovers that he only has one shift left to pay off a big debt, he goes from worried to hell-with-it-all daring. When the chauffer picks up a reclusive billionaire (Pine) with some deviant appetites, he vows to fulfill the guy’s every request, no matter how weird, to score the big tip that could settle his score. But as the night grows stranger and the driver is pushed into some very dangerous encounters, he worries that the freak in his back seat might just be his final fare.
The Inquisitr reported earlier this year that Jessica Alba was interested in tackling more serious roles. Since these projects take time away from her family, the actress wants to make sure the role is worth it.
“When you have kids, you kind of think, I don’t need to work just to work. I want to sink my teeth into a character that makes it worth not being with my kids, or not being at the office. Having kids, having strong relationships with my husband, my friends, that it is my priority,” she told Glamour.
