CBS Radio correspondent busted for growing weed

Veteran CBS Radio reporter Howard Arenstein was arrested over the weekend along with his wife on charges related to growing marijuana in his swanky Washington DC home.

Early Saturday, a search warrant was executed at the Northwest DC home of 60-year-old Howard Arenstein and his wife, 57-year-old Orly Katz. A resident from the neighborhood tipped off police, and the Washington Post details the amounts of marijuana reportedly confiscated:

A police report said cannabis was recovered from the home; officers said they found 11 full-grown marijuana plants and six 2-ounce bags of marijuana. Authorities consider each plant to equal a pound of marijuana.

Arenstein’s wife Orly is known professionally as Orly Azoulay, and she is a Washington correspondent for one of Israel’s most widely circulated newspapers, Yedioth Ahronoth. Neighbors who declined to be identified told press that the two generally were quiet and kept to themselves. The couple did not comment on their arrest, and CBS had no comment on the incident.
