Justin Bieber Hits 42 Million On Twitter: Debuts Tat, Denies Spat

Justin Bieber’s unprecedented Twitter reach has now surpassed 42 million.

The teen heartthrob hit the new milestone on Wednesday, July 17.

Although Bieber famously lost the race to become the first person to hit 10 million, 20 million and 30 million followers, on June 4 he became the first to hit 40 million followers.

Elsewhere, the pop star’s social media presence remains impressive.

Despite losing ground to Rihanna and Miley Cyrus on YouTube recently, the Canadian has over 54 million Facebook subscribers and last month became the first Instagram video user to hit one million ‘Likes.’

But, as stratospheric as these numbers are, Bieber’s latest tattoo tributes just one person — his mother, Pattie Mallette.

The singer revealed his latest body art — a representation of his mom’s eye —- on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

It was inked by legendary tattooist Keith Bang Bang McCurdy at his Lower East Side, NYC parlor.

“@bangbangnyc did this art,” Bieber wrote, alongside a snap of his freshly-tattooed arm. “Moms always watching. )”

The singer has previously spoken about his gratitude to Mallette for her support over the years.

According to McCurdy, Bieber’s decision to get the ‘eye’ inked isn’t “bizarre at all, people often get an eye to symbolize many things. For him, it was just like his mother watching over, kind of like a protective thing. It’s totally from mama. We were talking about how we both have tattoos for our mothers and how it’s something you’ll never regret.”

Currently being investigated for alleged battery, and sued for various alleged assaults and/or theft, amid accusations of reckless driving and multiple allegations of spitting, it’s likely Bieber turned to his mom for advice more than once this year.

The latest accusation to hit the singer is an odd one. A deejay working at a bar and lounge in Ohio last weekend when Bieber played Columbus’ Nationwide Arena on his Believe tour claims the pop star spat in his face.

The unnamed man alleges Bieber’s security team manhandled him after accusing him of trying to take snaps of the singer. He is claiming that after the security guards failed to find photographs on his phone, they still told the teen star he had been trying to take pictures.

The man later told a local radio station that Bieber then confronted him using “choice words” and allegedly spat in his face.

A woman claiming to be a firsthand witness says no such incident occurred and the accusation has been denied by Bieber’s spokesperson, who called it a “lie” that “never happened.”

The rep went on to describe the accuser and a media climate that has possibly prejudged the teen singer as guilty, as: “Another person looking for a paycheck in the witch hunt which at this point is just out of control.”

In other Bieber news, just surfaced pictures of him and Selena Gomez at a July 4 house party are doing the rounds after it was reported the pair reunited following his promise to “change his ways.”

The Spring Breeakers’ actress recently admitted in an E! Special with Ryan Seacrest that dealing with her public break-up from Bieber has been “unbearable” and left her “way stressed out.”

However, judging by Gomez’s smiles at last night’s sports 2013 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles, the reasons for her stress are all gone.
