Chicago Clerk Beaten With Baseball Bat Over XXX Large Tank Shirts

A Chicago clerk was beaten with a baseball bat when he informed a customer the store did not carry triple extra large tank shirts. The bloodied 51-year-old clerk stumbled onto the sidewalk crying for help after the attack. Chicago has some of the toughest gun control laws in America but still holds some of the highest murder and violent crime rates in the nation.

An unnamed merchant told police officers that the Chicago clerk was the victim of an extremely vicious attack. The male clerk reportedly suffered cuts to his head and was transported to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center for emergency treatment.

The Chicago clerk baseball bat attack happened on the 5500 block of West Belmont Avenue in the Cragin Neighborhood during the mid-morning hours. The store staffer told police investigators that he was standing behind the counter when a man came in to ask about triple extra large tank shirts. When the employee stated the store did not have any, the attacker allegedly began swinging the bat and left still carrying the piece of athletic equipment after the beating.

The female merchant witness also told law enforcement officers that security cameras caught the attack and described the physical attributes of the alleged criminal. According to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien, officers are searching for a black man between the ages of 23 and 30. The man is about 6 feet tall and weighs between 200 and 250 pounds. The man suspected of attacking the Chicago clerk was reportedly wearing a red bandana at the time of the violent baseball bat beating.
