Honey Boo Boo Retires From Pageants [Report]

Honey Boo Boo is retiring from the beauty pageants that made 7-year-old Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson famous. “Mama” June Shannon, 33, reportedly made the announcement in the new issue of In Touch, which quoted the reality TV star as saying:

“We’re done. We haven’t done a pageant for a while, because we’re so busy with our show and school and life in general.”

Speaking of TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, the season premiere aired last night. Honey Boo Boo may be retired from the pageants, but her family hasn’t retired from the ridiculous antics and crazy redneck conversational skills that made them famous.

Popwatch’s Hilary Busis did a round-up of the funniest season 2 quotes aired thus far. You can get the whole list there, but how about a couple of samples from Honey Boo Boo herself?

Here’s Honey Boo Boo explaining how to use the so-called Cup-a-Fart to fight dirty: “You fart in your hand, and throw it at your enemy’s face.”

Here’s her idea of fine dining: “My roadkill wish list is a rabbit, a hamster, a monkey. They go crazy. A bird, a butterfly, a porcupine. Because you can pick your teeth with the quills. And…a wild pig. Raccoon. A gopher. A helephant. A lion. This is making me hungry, too.”

For some reason, it’s easy to see why she might have grown out of the beauty pageant world.

Some viewer reaction to the premiere:
