Cop gets sacked for posting Facebook pics of strippers on hood of patrol car

A police officer in South Carolina has been sacked after he posted pictures of bikini clad women posing on the hood of a police car during a “Tit n’ Tats” car wash to his Facebook account.

Apparently, some busybody went and notified the Moncks Corner Sheriff’s department, and the officer, who has not been named, is no longer with the force. The sheriff’s department refuses to confirm anything other than the officer’s departure, such as whether he was offered the option to resign or was straight-up fired.

In a somewhat difficult to parse article about the ripples caused by the charity car wash at Rockstar Studio, it was also reported that a sheriff’s deputy participated in the event but will not be disciplined because she attended on her own time and did not use departmental resources. It was unclear whether the officer who was disciplined so severely was off-duty at the time, and it was mentioned that employees of the department are authorized to take cruisers home.

Moncks Corner Police Chief Chad Caldwell commented on why he felt such harsh consequences were required for this particular transgression:

“I think he took his personal car there first and then he went in his police car,” Caldwell said. “I don’t think he was trying to be malicious. I think he used completely poor judgment.”

“…It reflects badly not only on the police department,” Caldwell said. “It reflects badly on the town.”

Rockstar Studio owner Josh Badgett, whose wife was one of the women photographed on the cop’s car, says the reaction was “excessive” and that other law enforcement officials had participated in the event before:

“The girls were washing cars. There was nothing illegal,” Badgett said. “I don’t understand why people are making such a big deal out of it. If Girl Scouts were out there washing cars, would there be a problem?”

The disciplinary action came as the result of an “anonymous tip.”
