‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Suit Has MP3 Player

Peter Parker’s suit in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been fitted with an MP3 player, which allows the superhero to listen to his favorite songs as he fights his rivals.

Deborah Lynn Scott, the costumer designer on the 2012 film has revealed that she decided to redesign the suit from The Amazing Spider-Man attire that Andrew Garfield donned so that it could include brighter colors, larger eyes, and a belt, which Spider-Man can be seen wearing in his comic book adventures.

Scott also decided more technology to the suit, moving Peter Parker into the 21st century in the process. Scott said, “We wanted ours to have an MP3 player in it. You’ll see early on in the film that he can turn music on that he’s listening to inside the costume through his web shooter.”

Matt Tolmach, The Amazing Spider-Man’s producer, commented on Parker’s new garments, stating, “The suit is different. The suit is bad-ass. The suit is improved.”

Regading the addition of the belt, Scott added, “It’s there in the source material, so this one does.” However when she was asked why he needed a belt she admitted, “I don’t know. He just always has. There are rules to comic-book characters.”

Marc Webb, the movie’s director, also remarked on the suit, drawing special praise to its eyes. The filmmaker stated, “We’ve got the best eyes of any suit. Really big, warm white eyes. They’re very expressive in their own way.”

Filming for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 concluded last month, and the film is finally set to be released in May, 2014.

Andrew Garfield will reprise his role as Peter Parker, whilst Emma Stone will also return as Gwen Stacey, and Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti will feature as the film’s antagonists, playing Electro and Rhino respectively.
