Lolo Jones Gets Into Bar Fight With Bobsled Official’s Stepdaughter

Lolo Jones and the world of bobsledding just don’t mix. The Olympic hurdler took up bobsledding during the off-season but it hasn’t exactly gone as planned. Jones, who recently caused some controversy when she complained about her bobsledding pay, got into a bar fight with the stepdaughter of a US bobsledding official.

According to the Washington Post, Jones got into a fight at a bar with Tony Carlino’s stepdaughter in Lake Placid, New York. Carlino’s stepdaughter’s name was not released.

Initial reports said that Jones “knocked out” Carlino’s stepdaughter after an argument but a United States Bobsledding and Skeleton Federation spokesman said that there was no evidence of that.

Jones will not be punished by the USBSF for the altercation.

Darrin Steele, the CEO of the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, said: “That could change if new information emerges, but I’m not expecting that to happen at this point… It’s a good reminder of why our athletes need to avoid putting themselves in situations where things like this can happen.”

Carlino is a USBSF Hall of Famer. He also runs the complex in Lake Placid where the US Bobsledding team trains.

Steele added: “We all feel bad the situation happened and we want to put this behind us and focus on winning medals in Sochi.”

Jones hasn’t commented on the incident but it doesn’t look like she’s too concerned about the bar fight. She recently enjoyed a day of golf. But don’t worry, it doesn’t look like she’ll be changing sports anytime soon.

Jones writes: My first time golfing. Ever. I will stick to using golf courses for running workouts #swingandMiss
