Desiree Hartsock: ‘The Bachelorette’ Hometown Visit Episode [Spoiler]

UPDATE: Life & Style is now reporting that Desiree Hartsock became engaged on May 6 when the would-be groom got down on his knees to offer a 3.5 carat, $75,000 diamond to The Bachelorette. The two are meeting in secret, and his identity can’t be revealed before the airing of the August 5 episode.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

Desiree Hartsock, a 27-year-old bridal stylist from Colorado, is picking up a little buzz today as a result of the Monday episode of The Bachelorette. You’d better back out now if you haven’t seen it yet, and you’re worried about a big ole spoiler.

The Bachelorette is currently in its ninth season. The premise of the competitive dating reality ABC show is pretty simple. The lead actress — Desiree Hartsock in this case — will eliminate men from the starting group of 25 until she arrives at the final choice, the man she may or may not eventually marry.

Desiree Hartsock is currently also blogging about the experience for People, where you can find an extended write-up about the Monday episode.

By the way, if you haven’t watched it yet, then it’s your last chance to back out before the spoiler. Fair warning.

OK. The episode featured Desiree Hartsock’s visit to meet the parents of the remaining four bachelors in their hometowns. In People, she talks about the families with words like “amazing,” “the love they [have] for each other,” and “effortless.”

In other words, she really had nothing bad to say about anyone, which makes for a dull blog and perhaps even duller television.

Emma Gray for The Huffington Post had an extended review of the episode, but she summed Desiree Hartsock up in two cruel words — “still boring.” Ouch.

To cut to the chase, Hartsock sent home Zak, not because he did anything wrong really but just because she had to dump somebody:

“Sending Zak home was difficult because he is such a great guy. He will make some woman very happy one day — and will certainly keep her laughing through life.”

Brooks, Chris, and Drew are still standing. With three men left that all seem fairly marriageable, Desiree Hartsock may have some tough choices ahead of her on The Bachelorette.
