Other Zimmerman Jurors Release Statement, ‘Juror B37 Views Aren’t Ours’

After the woman known as Juror B37 wept and expressed sorrow for the horror George Zimmerman endured, the other Zimmerman jurors were forced to release a statement distancing themselves from the woman others in the courtroom described as erratic, out of touch, and ignorant of current affairs.

Juror B37 shocked the country when just a day after the Zimmerman acquittal, she announced independent of the other Zimmerman jurors that she would be releasing a book about her experience serving on the jury that ruled Trayvon Martin’s admitted killer was “not guilty.”

The interview given by Juror B37 caused a massive stir, as she cried about “Georgie” and how she felt his heart was in the “right place” as he fired a gun and fatally struck Trayvon Martin in the heart.

Clearly, the other Zimmerman jurors are feeling the heat, because in a statement posted by CNN on Facebook, four of the remaining five jurors explicitly distanced themselves from the woman serving alongside them who gave interviews and hoped to sell her story — not a day after the man who shot an unarmed teen walked free.

The Zimmerman jurors began in a statement titled STATE vs. ZIMMERMAN JURORS’ REQUEST FOR PRIVACY:

“We, the undersigned jurors, understand there is a great deal of interest in this case. But we ask you to remember that we are not public officials and we did not invite this type of attention into our lives.”

The four women continue, suggesting that the law was their sole decision for the Zimmerman verdict, and not any sympathy felt for the victim over the defendant:

We also wish to point out that the opinions of Juror B-37, expressed on the Anderson Cooper show were her own, and not in any way representative of the jurors listed below. Serving on this jury has been a highly emotional and physically draining experience for each of us. The death of a teenager weighed heavily on our hearts but in the end we did what the law required us to do.

The Zimmerman jurors conclude:

“We appeal to the highest standards of your profession and ask the media to respect our privacy and give us time to process what we have been through.”

On Twitter, it was rumored that unlike the other Zimmerman Jurors, B37 was married to a friend of Mark O’Mara’s from law school. (Her husband is a “space lawyer.”) No evidence has been offered to support the claim. After outcry on the service late last night, B37’s book deal was nixed by a publisher due to her statements on Cooper’s show.
