Westboro Baptist Church Homophobic Rants On Twitter Concerning Cory Monteith

As if things weren’t bad enough for Cory Monteith’s family, the Westboro Baptist Church announced it plans to protests the late Glee star’s funeral.

The Topeka, Kansas based anti-gay church continued to find people to exploit this week when it announced plans to picket the funeral for Cory Monteith who tragically died on Saturday.

Cory Monteith, 31, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on the weekend. Autopsy results are expected by Tuesday at the earliest, although no foul play appears to have taken place.

In the wake of the tragedy affecting Monteith’s relatives, the Westboro Baptist church is not backing down and went on a Twitter homophobic rant against gays.

The Twitter page seemed to revel on the media attention their actions are receiving and retweeted several sites who posted news about the planned funeral protests.

The extreme views of the controversial church have made connections between homosexuality and national tragedies.

Although Glee has several gay characters on their show, Monteith was heterosexual as was his character.
