Mario Lopez is Single!

Mario Lopez and his on-off girlfriend Karina Smirnoff have decided to call it quits, just affirming the opinion (okay, my opinion) that Dancing with the Stars isn’t the best place to pick up a partner. One for life, that is.

After brushing off break-up rumors in April, Smirnoff’s rep confirmed that “Karina has parted ways with her two year relationship with Mario Lopez. The relationship wasn’t heading in the right direction.”

Just in case any lingering rumors were still hanging around about their relationship, Mario squashed it on his end, too: “Karina and I have the utmost respect for each other. She is a phenomenal and talented woman. I support her always and feel blessed to have her in my life.”

I always did want me a slice of the Slater. Does this mean that we won’t get any more super-awesome-yet-romantic jet ski snaps?
